They are best when between 20 and 100 litres per day required. The plate set weighs 1.6 kg.  Container volume < 30 litres*, weight less than 1 kg*.  The life of the plate set is typically 50,000 litres for 200 NTU muddy water†.

Designed to give rural families good quality drinking water, particularly in remote locations, almost irrespective of the contaminant in the water.  It makes drinking water safe even if you take your water downstream from industrial/mining/septic/sewer outlets.    Also suitable for families who wish to clean up the poor quality tap water supplied to their residence.   Mains electricity should be regularly available.

Families or up to 10 travellers, aid workers and similar in sunny regions.   Solar panel will only recharge the battery pack at the rate of about 40 litres per day.  It gives good quality water from many raw water sources that would not have been considered in the past.
